Banks: Why I did not vote against the draft of the Mayor Changing of the Paris

Last Tuesday, I did not want to vote on the proposed development on the banks of the Seine Mr Delanoe with two of my colleagues in the Council of Paris.

Within our group (UMPPA), "freedom of speech and to vote is guaranteed to everyone" (Article 1 of our bylaws).
Politicians are not clones. I claim right to hold beliefs.

Locate banks of the Seine is a necessity, this is in the direction of history towards urbanization is also seeking a greater quality of life. There was no question for me to vote against this principle.

Obviously, the project of the mayor of Paris is not satisfactory because it does not resolve the substantive issues, particularly with regard to postponement of movement. (I refer you to the note posted Tuesday on this blog. http://generationproximite.blogspot.com/2010/07/berges-de-la-seine-oui-mais-bertrand.html ). That's why I did not approve.

Moreover, contrary to what is reported in the press, we have not been "summoned" by Jean-François Lamour.
We are colleagues, not collaborators.
We offered to meet him on Monday last to share with him directly, in a frank and constructive dialogue.

It's really not a matter of state ... and this will prevent anyone from sleeping. All keep our composure!

time!

With my colleagues, David ALPHAND and Pierre-Yves BOURNAZEL , we introduced two wishes for the Council of Paris to change the behavior of elected officials in the interests of fairness, justice and transparency.

Change time and fight against the unfair advantages are a necessity to restore the confidence of the French who is asked to do a lot of effort in these times of crisis.

A first wish invites the Council of Paris to give its full support for pension reform initiated by the government of Nicolas Sarkozy and François Fillon participating in an overhaul of the pension system for elected councilors in Paris before 1992 that benefit currently-taxing their pensions . Through our initiative, the government decided to establish a working group comprising representatives of Bercy, the Ministry of Interior and elected to deconstruct this exemption and to propose changes.

A second wish is to ask Mayor of Paris of 10% reduction in operating expenses of his office and those of his assistants as soon as possible.
We have not been heard! Not easy to change especially when the era harder to convince are those of our own group!

Banks of the Seine: "YES, BUT" Bertrand DELANOE

YES to the development of the banks of the Seine . It is a provision common sense, an imperative for the radiation of our capital and well-being of Parisians and Parisiennes.

YES to a city that is reclaiming its river and offers each new spaces for recreation, relaxation, culture and sports.

YES to traffic control, development of bicycle lanes and strengthening of the supply of transit projects incurred by the Greater Paris.

BUT why not also develop the banks are not used by cars while they are also places to regain particularly in favor of economic activity?
The 15th and 13th arrondissements offer interesting spaces and the waterfront development must benefit all its residents . the 40 million spent, not one cent for these two boroughs! Nothing for the Isle of Swans (15th).

BUT why not have simultaneously launched a large investment project transit in terms of accessibility, safety, frequency, comfort and interconnection? The RER C
along the Seine must be modernized. Public transport must be a credible alternative to the car, because in 10 years, the policy of Bertrand Delanoe has organized the traffic congestion and saturation of our metro and RER. I hope for the transportation revolution .

BUT what steps will be taken to regulate traffic deferrals after the closing to traffic of the banks of the left bank?

Under these conditions, convinced that the development banks of the Seine is in the sense of history, but regretting the weaknesses of the project by the Mayor of Paris, I will not attend the vote on this resolution.
